TCR JOIN NIGERIANS AND THE REST OF THE WORLD TO CELEBRATE GEJ @59

Nigerian media and indeed some other African fellows stood up to celebrate His Excellency, Presidend Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan; the immediate past President of Nigeria yesterday as he turns 59.

Goodluck who left office unprepared last year due to election he suspiciously lost to Buhari has turn out to be the darling majority of Nigerians and has equally turn out to be the face of Democracy in Africa.

Unlike other Nigerian and African politicians who always reject election results, challenge outcome of elections at courts, and in some cases, the incumbent refuses to concede defeat; which always result in bloodshed. Goodluck Azikiwe, the son of Jonathan from the tribe of Otuoke in Bayelsa State of Nigeria did not only concede, but he called his challenger while votes are still counting to congratulate him.

This gesture we have never since in the entire African nations.

"Why do you love this man so?"

In all honesty, I've never been able to answer that question fully. I suspect I may never.

One thing I know is, you, President Goodluck Jonathan, are a rare gem. A man of courage. A man not given to the frills of power, self-obsessed shows and oratory duplicities.

It's a great honour that I join others to celebrate you today.

I wish you many more years of grace.
